Meg Harper coming to the Dulwich festival was a very enjoyable experience. First she read us her new book 'Bonkers' which, not to give too much away, was about a group of teachers who act like chickens, a bunch of unlucky boys, a girl and a school play, a perfect recipe for disaster! Then we thought of embarrassing stories about ourselves. Meg had a good one about when she was at her old school which the children would have to bring their own handkerchiefs to daily. She never had one. So when the head told everyone to hold up there handkerchiefs she would hold up a scrap of paper. One day the head spotted this and told her to get her handkerchief, can you guess what happened next? We then tried changing the end of her story and our own stories to funnier finales. I recommend Meg Harper for any age whether you like horror or fantasy she can do them all and make them an enjoyable experience at the same time. Star rating: * * * * *! Tom also interviewed Meg - see her answers to his questions here.
Ruby, with her friend Charlotte, was inspired by Meg's session to create a story. Read The Adventures of Superbaby here.
