Meg Harper reading from My Mum and the Green-eyed Monster at the book's launch in Warwick at the end of January 2006

Read Kate's blog

If you’ve read ‘Why I wrote the My Mum books’ you’ll know that I was keen to write a fourth in the series, even though the trilogy seemed to be complete. It was hard to abandon Kate and her family and friends, about whom I’ve always really enjoyed writing. I think Kate is quite a mouthpiece for my own questions and frustrations! I also wanted to explore how Kate and Chas would relate as they got older and faced even bigger challenges.

My Mum and the Green-eyed Monster is perhaps a bit more serious in tone than the previous books. There are still lots of laughs (I hope!) but it might make you cry a bit too. I’m not saying any more; I think it’s better written than the earlier books so I hope you enjoy and find that the mix of humour and sadness works for you! Do let me know what you think!
