My first book was published by Lion in 1997 when I was 37.

I first started trying to write seriously in my mid-twenties while I was still an English teacher. That and the arrival of four children rather cramped my style as did our decision to home-educate them. I was fortunate not to be the victim of the traditional truckloads of rejections, however, and, so far, have had 11 books published, 10 by Lion (now Lion Hudson) and 1 by BRF.

The most popular have been the ‘My Mum’ books but the ‘St Jenni’ series is also doing well.

The fourth ‘My Mum’ book was published on January 20th 2006 (‘My Mum and the Green-Eyed Monster’) and a book for Usborne, ‘Fur’, is due out on 26th May 2006.

I’m currently working on books for BRF and Usborne.
