Meg Harper UK Children's Author

The following schools have been kind enough to recommend my work:

Manor Farm Junior School, Hazelmere, High Wycombe
Meg's creative workshops develop drama, story writing and listening skills. A teacher for over fifteen years, Meg's rapport with the children is warm and dynamic. A wonderful way to interact with a writer. The children produced excellent work. I have no hesitation in recommending Meg.

St Mary's Primary School, Banbury
Last March (2003), St Mary's School were finalists in the TES Newsday competition in the category for News web sites.
This success was due in no little part to the work that Meg Harper did on the day with the group of Year 6 pupils who put together the Web site. As well as allowing herself to be interviewed for the feature article on the site, she sat with the pupils as they put the page on the Web site and asked questions which guided the pupils in the decisions that they needed to take. Throughout the time she spent on that day she was friendly and approachable and put the pupils at their ease.
Following on from the Newsday work, Meg was invited back to the School to do group work with Year 6 pupils. Her contribution to their development was much appreciated.

North Solihull Gifted and Talented Cluster
Children from St Annes and Kingfisher Schools recently attended a workshop run by local author Meg Harper.
Meg read some of her work and there was also a chance to ask her some questions about being an author. ‘She told us exactly how it feels to be an author,’ said one girl
She looked at writing in a humorous style about situations that really happened.
‘Some of the things that happened to her were very funny’ said one boy.
Children then had a chance to work with Meg on some of their own writing.
It must have been good. ‘We all wanted it to go on longer!’
Come again Meg!

Solihull Junior School
Good things about the workshop included enjoyment of the children, interactive, good ideas for story writing, children’s participation and stimulating ideas conveyed to the children for follow-up work.

St. Anthony’s Primary School, Leamington Spa
The drama was great. The children were enthused and bubbling with excitement. They talked about the characters in the book and remembered them weeks later. Great for considering PSHE issues. Used the ‘writing outcomes’ and a very good standard was achieved.

Waldegrave School For Girls, Twickenham
Very good. You involved the girls in your story-telling – we will be buying more of your books.
