Visiting authors sometimes get invited to some far flung places! I’m recently back from a whistlestop trip to The International School of Moscow which caters for all ages from nursery through to year 6. I had an exciting and busy day, starting with a quick talk to the whole school about being an author and finishing with each class reporting back on their work with me. Between whiles I led workshops with every class in the school – I had a great time because I covered a wide range from Very Character Building with the oldest pupils to Princess Amelia with the youngest! There are rather a lot of photos of the children who helped me tell the Princess Amelia story because they are so photogenic! The young lady wearing the Princess’s special green glasses with white spots, joined in with huge enthusiasm! The International School very kindly provided escorts for me to have a day exploring Moscow as well – which was just as well as Russia is not somewhere that everyone speaks English – so I had a fascinating and very educational time – and I hope the pupils did too So if there are any other schools out there that fancy a visit from a globe-trotting author, do get in touch! |
