My Mum and Other Horror Stories

I got a very exciting and surprising package in the post recently. It contained an audio version of ‘My Mum and Other Horror Stories’, produced by Chivers/BBC and read by the actress Abigail Cruttenden (Monarch of the Glen, Helen West, Rosemary and Thyme, Doctors and Nurses). It’s ISBN number is 0 7450 6479 4 and you should be able to order a copy from your bookshop or library before too long. There’s over three hours of jolly listening there! It’s very strange, listening to your own story on tape in a voice which isn’t quite how you imagined, but it’s a lot of fun too! It’s intriguing listening to how Abigail creates a different voice for each character. We’re really hoping it does well as then Chivers/BBC will consider doing tapes of the other two ‘My Mum’ stories – so if you know someone who would enjoy this story but doesn’t like reading, please get them a copy!
